Make Money With Bead Jewelry

Congratulations on deciding to give beaded jewelry making a try! Making jewelry with beads is a fun and rewarding hobby that give you a creative outlet and relieve stress! The basic skills of jewelry making with beads are pretty easy to pick up but some can take a lifetime to master.

When you first start making beaded jewelry you may be quickly overwhelmed with the amazing number of beads available, the different materials that are used, the many different wire techniques and clasps that are all available for just about any piece of jewelry you could ever imagine. You may want to start out buying some discount beads and supplies just so you can practice your skills without breaking the bank.

There are lots of various ways you can start learning all the skills necessary to make your own hand-crafted jewelry. Here are a few of the best methods to really get started right away:

Visit a jewelry making shop: After you have been making custom jewelry for a while, a visit to your local jewelry supply shop will be like visiting a candy store. Initially, though, it might be a bit daunting to navigate through the hundreds of different bead shapes, stringing options and tools and supplies available. The good news is that most bead stores are staffed with women who were once amateurs like you and most will gladly share their enthusiasm and experience with you. Do not be afraid to ask even the most basic of questions and be sure to let the person know you’re just beginning to explore your way around the store. I’ve even been to some bead stores that offer a free “one-on-one” session with a jewelry expert to help you get going making bead jewelry of your own.

First make a newspaper pattern barely smaller than the size of the drape mold. Roll out a slab of clay from 3/8″ to 1/2″ thickness larger than the plate size. Using the newspaper sample as a guide, cut out the plate shape from the clay slab. Leftover clay can be used for making ft or a coil foot. Place the clay plate onto the textured slab mildew and press down from the middle to the perimeters with a small sand bag, and finish smoothing and urgent down with a pony roller. Using the curved curler on the pony roller, bevel the edges of the plate. If desired, you’ll be able to impress texture tools, even discovered objects comparable to leaves onto the back of the plate.
