How Soy Candle Making Kits Can Help You Begin Producing Candles

Most of the candle enthusiasts you will come across dream of making their own candles, but they get weighed down by the magnitude of the tasks involved in candle creation.  It’s the plethora of supplies they need to collect that’s daunting.  Producing candles at home is not easy, but with dedication and persistence, you can become an expert in no time.  Before you can begin your candle enterprise, you must study the ropes of candle crafting. New candle crafters need simple ingredients and equipment.

Once you learn the fundamentals, the rest will be easy.  If you are set on making candles right at the moment but you don’t know where to start, you can simply buy candle making kits.  These are packages that are available in nearly all hobby suppliers.  Candle supply retailers have also started offering candle making kits because of the growing fascination in the art.  Inquire around a hobby shop and you will find a collection of special kinds of candle making kits available.  The different kits will usually contain dyes, wax blocks and oils for adding fragrance.

Creating your initial set of homemade candles with these kits is simple and you don’t have to waste time looking for all the components you will require to start with.  Usually, candle crafting kits contain the most basic requirements for creating candles.  I particularly suggest starting with soy candle production kits. Soy candles are the easiest to make because the material is natural. One other wax type that has a simiilar quality is beeswax.

The main difference between soy candles and beeswax-type is the price. Soy candle creation is less costly than beeswax-type candle creation.  You can also put in scented oil to your soya homemade candles.

Soya candles are accepted as they don’t give off too much soot like paraffin candles.  Soy wax is one of the residues from soyabean processing.  As soon as you have your soy candle making kit, confirm if it contains at least a couple of pounds of wax, candle dye, at least half a dozen wicks and fragrance oil.

Your candle making kit will contain the components for making your basic candle, but you will still need the right utensils to start producing.  A double boiler is necessary for turning a chunk of wax into liquid.  If you’re on a budget, you can simply use two pots; one of which can fit loosely inside the other.   The smaller pot will contain the melting candle wax, while the bigger pot will contain steaming water.  Other materials you will want to have are jugs and wick accessories. 

Molds are another necessity, but you can do away with these by using containers.  Get the accessories such as gloves, safety goggles, apron, safety mittens from a local supply warehouse, or you can make use of what you already have at home.  But beware; candle making can cause fires so make sure you have a fire extinguisher on hand to be safe.
